Humana Inc. is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to keep the NBA platform healthy, reliable, and maintainable across the full stack. You will diagnose issues, improve reliability, and implement focused features across Java, Node.js/TypeScript, Python, and SQL components.

The role emphasizes hands-on work with Kubernetes, AWS/Azure-like cloud infra, and CI/CD, plus strong collaboration with delivery pods and Decision Intelligence for long-term ownership.

Formación

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building and operating production systems.
• Comfortable across a polyglot codebase (Java, Node.js/TypeScript, Python, SQL).
• Solid understanding of distributed systems (APIs, event-driven patterns, asynchronous processing, and failure handling).
• Hands-on observability practices (logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting).
• Experience operating services on cloud infrastructure (Azure or equivalent) with containers/Kubernetes and CI/CD.
• Maintenance mindset prioritizing operational health and well-documented code.
• Clear communicator able to explain a system or an incident to engineers and non-engineers alike.

Responsabilidades

• Cross-Stack Maintenance — Maintain and support services across the full platform.
• Reliability Engineering — Monitor platform health, investigate production issues, and resolve bottlenecks.
• Feature Implementation — Design and ship focused features and improvements across platform components.
• Observability — Extend logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting for clear production visibility.
• Performance and scale — Profile and tune components under load and scale reliably.
• Quality — Write tests, participate in code reviews, and uphold engineering standards.
• Incident response — Participate in on‑call rotation, lead root‑cause analysis, and turn incidents into durable fixes.
• Collaboration — Work with delivery pods and Decision Intelligence for long-term ownership.
