Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for the Core Automation team in the Platform group. You will lead the engineering organization building Agentic AI systems that transform how Coinbase operates.

This role focuses on reimagining compliance and customer support processes with AI-driven automation at scale. You will hire and grow multiple teams, set the technical direction for production AI, and partner with Compliance and Operations leadership to deliver measurable improvements in

Qualifications

10+ years in software engineering with 5+ years of engineering management experience.
Proven track record shipping LLM-based or Agentic AI applications to production.
Hands-on with architecture decisions, code reviews, and system design guidance.
Experience in compliance, regulatory tech, customer support automation, or financial crimes domains.
Committed to responsible AI with human oversight and measurable workflow improvements.

Responsibilities

Build, hire, and grow a high-performing engineering organization across multiple initiatives.
Set the technical vision and multi-quarter roadmap for Agentic AI systems.
Drive architecture and delivery of production LLM-based systems with guardrails and grounding.
Lead cross-functional engineering initiatives across compliance automation domains.
Establish engineering standards and AI adoption frameworks to accelerate production AI.
