Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for the Core Automation team in the Platform group. You’ll lead the engineering organization building Agentic AI systems that transform how Coinbase operates, with guardrails and measurable business impact.

You will hire and grow multiple teams, set technical direction for production AI systems, and partner with Compliance and Operations leadership to deliver automation that improves compliance posture and customer experience at scale.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering with at least 5 years of engineering management experience, including 2+ years managing managers
• Proven track record shipping LLM-based or Agentic AI applications to production with grounding and guardrails
• Deep fluency in distributed systems, cloud-native architecture, and modern AI/ML infrastructure

Responsibilities

• Build, hire, and grow a high-performing engineering organization, coaching managers and senior engineers on technical leadership
• Set the technical vision and multi-quarter roadmap for Core Automation's Agentic AI systems
• Drive architecture and delivery of production LLM-based systems with guardrails and measurable impact
• Lead multiple parallel engineering initiatives across compliance automation domains
• Establish engineering standards and AI adoption frameworks to accelerate shipping of AI systems
