Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer for the Core Automation team.

You will architect and build Agentic AI systems to automate customer support and compliance at scale, delivering reliable, production-ready AI platforms. You will guide cross-functional stakeholders and other engineering teams, driving from prototype to production while focusing on grounding, hallucination reduction, and efficiency gains across Coinbase.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Proven track record shipping LLM-based or Agentic AI applications to production.
• Experience architecting distributed systems at massive scale.
• Experience partnering with compliance, operations, and customer support to define requirements.
• Mentor engineers and influence technical direction across teams.

Responsibilities

• Own design and implementation of Agentic AI systems powering Coinbase's customer support and compliance automation.
• Architect a reusable platform of primitives, orchestration tools, and interfaces for other teams to adopt Agentic AI.
• Drive cross-functional alignment to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
• Lead strategy for getting LLM-based applications from prototype to production, including grounding and reliability at scale.
• Mentor engineers on system design, coding standards, and AI/ML best practices.
