Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for the Core Automation team to lead multiple AI-driven automation initiatives. You will shape the technical direction for production AI systems, ensure guardrails and grounding, and collaborate with Compliance and Operations to deliver measurable business impact.

You will hire and guide managers and engineers, drive roadmaps, and maintain high delivery velocity while upholding system correctness and quality in a fast-moving, compliant environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering with management experience including managers.
• Experience shipping LLM-based or Agentic AI applications to production with guardrails and grounding.
• Deep fluency in distributed systems, cloud-native architecture, and modern AI/ML infra.

Responsibilities

• Build, hire, and grow a high-performing engineering organization with technical leadership coaching.
• Set multi-quarter roadmap for Agentic AI systems in Core Automation, aligning with Compliance and Ops.
• Drive architecture and delivery of production LLM-based systems with guardrails and measurement.
• Lead multiple parallel initiatives across compliance automation domains with high velocity.
• Establish standards, code reviews, and AI adoption frameworks to accelerate shipping.
