Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a senior software engineering leader to drive AI-powered automation in Compliance. You will guide multi‑tenant distributed systems, mentor engineers, and partner with product, design and leadership to lay out quarterly roadmaps and ship scalable cloud solutions.

You will balance hands‑on and strategic work, champion high‑quality code and architecture, and help strengthen the engineering culture across teams.

Qualifications

At least 10 years of software engineering experience.
At least 5 years in engineering management and 2 years managing managers.
Experience delivering multi-tenant, distributed systems at scale.
Hands-on when needed: coding, design reviews or incident leadership.
Passionate about building an open financial system.

Responsibilities

Explore GenAI techniques and LLMs to solve cross‑org challenges.
Lead and influence Operations and Compliance teams for impact.
Build and manage engineering teams in the Compliance domain.
Plan, design, develop, and test software systems and cloud tools.
Design scalable cloud architectures and distributed systems.
Collaborate with product and leadership to translate vision into quarterly roadmaps.
Mentor engineers on design principles and coding standards.
