You’ll own the technical direction for production AI, design APIs and orchestration, and mentor engineers on production‑readiness. This remote‑first role emphasizes collaboration across functions, with quarterly in‑person surges as needed to push the boundary of automation.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering with distributed systems experience.
• Proven track record shipping production AI/ML apps with LLMs.
• Experience designing APIs, orchestration, and evaluation for agentic AI.
• Experience in customer support automation, compliance, or financial crimes domains.
• Able to ensure reliable outputs with guardrails and minimal hallucination.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build Agentic AI systems powering Coinbase’s automation.
• Design APIs and measurement frameworks for grounded AI agents.
• Lead technical direction for distributed AI automation with roadmaps.
• Build reusable primitives and orchestration to scale AI across domains.
• Mentor engineers on AI system design, coding standards, production readiness.
