Job summary

Sargent & Lundy’s Nuclear Power Group seeks a senior Piping Engineer & Analyst to provide technical direction, review complex calculations, and ensure designs meet ASME codes and project requirements. This hybrid role requires in-office work 3 days per week and coordination across disciplines.

You will lead project teams, develop system and installation specifications, and apply ASME B31.1 and related codes to deliver safe, cost-effective piping solutions for demanding projects.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Aerospace, or Structural/Civil Engineering, ABET-accredited, with emphasis in solid mechanics and FEA.
• 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Extensive knowledge of ASME B31.1 and ASME B&PV Section III piping codes.
• Knowledge of pipe supporting element design.
• Working knowledge of commercially available piping products and their application.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Reviews complex calculations and approves simple calculations.
• Reviews and approves simple system/structural designs and prepares/reviews complex designs.
• Performs engineering review of drawings and coordinates interface between design and engineering.
• Prepares and reviews major system, installation, and material specifications.
• Prepares bid evaluations and participates in vendor negotiations.
• Prepares and reviews single-discipline and multi-discipline reports.
