Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks a senior Piping Engineer to provide expert analysis and design support for piping systems across nuclear and industrial projects. You will perform complex calculations, prepare design inputs, and review engineering deliverables in line with ASME B31.1 and related codes.

The role combines technical leadership with collaboration, mentoring, and continuous improvement, under a hybrid work model with in-office presence three days per week.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering with emphasis on solid mechanics, structural analysis, or finite element analysis
• 5+ years of relevant piping engineering experience
• Knowledge of ASME B31.1 and ASME BPV Section III piping codes
• Familiarity with pipe supporting elements and piping products
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review complex calculations and designs
• Develop and review P&IDs and Master Diagrams
• Prepare equipment and material specifications
• Assist in cost estimates and vendor data collection
• Support project schedules and budgets
• Lead small teams on discipline engineering tasks
• Communicate results clearly in meetings and reports
