Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a senior Piping Engineer to provide technical direction on piping systems in nuclear and industrial projects. This role requires leadership on multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring designs meet ASME codes, quality, and project controls expectations.

The position reports to the Nuclear Power Group and supports in-office work 3 days per week on a hybrid schedule. Strong background in solid mechanics and finite element analysis is essential.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited mechanical/structural program with solid mechanics focus.
• 10+ years of relevant piping engineering experience.
• Knowledge of ASME B31.1 and B&PV Section III piping codes.
• Knowledge of pipe supporting elements and piping products.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineers provide technical direction and supervise project team members.
• Review complex calculations and approve simple ones, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
• Review and approve system/structural designs for completeness and operability.
• Prepare and review major system and material specifications, and vendor submittals.
• Prepare and review single-discipline and multi-discipline reports and studies.
