Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a seasoned Field Engineering Lead to manage a PPE piping team on LNG projects along the US Gulf Coast. You will provide field leadership for work planning, material management, quantity validation, safety, quality control, and turnover coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10–13 years of relevant experience.
• Proven ability to manage and lead teams.
• Heavy industrial construction supervisory experience.
• Experience in oil, gas, refinery, petrochemical, minerals processing, or power generating station construction.
• Knowledge of engineering and construction methods and processes.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide ES&H leadership to the piping department and lead safety meetings.
• Perform end-of-year performance reviews for field staff direct reports.
• Inspect discipline system installations and document findings.
• Support field supervision with workforce, tools, equipment, and materials requirements.
• Develop installation work packages to support the construction schedule.
• Prepare short- and long-term schedules and coordinate with superintendents.
• Input data to quantity tracking and report weekly installed quantities.
• Prepare and monitor field material requisitions and purchase order status.
• Assist field procurement with receipt inspection and maintenance requirements.
• Troubleshoot design issues with engineering/fabricators using field documentation.
• Ensure installations comply with latest drawings, specs, standards, and codes.
• Coordinate with subcontractors on site for technical services and manage change docs.
• Complete and verify quality documentation per inspections and tests.
• Perform final system walk-downs, track deficiencies, and close-out.
• Review as-built documentation.
• Monitor actual work vs project budget and schedule.
