Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a senior field engineer to lead piping teams on LNG plant projects in the US Gulf Coast region. The candidate will manage work planning, material control, safety and quality, inspections, and turnover of systems and subcontracts.

Key responsibilities include safety leadership, performance reviews, field documentation, and collaboration with field supervisors to meet budget and schedule while ensuring compliance with design drawings and codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or international equivalent.
• 10–13 years of relevant experience or 14–17 years.
• Experience leading field teams on major construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide ES&H leadership to personnel in the piping department.
• Perform end of year performance reviews for field staff direct reports.
• Inspect and generate documentation for discipline system installations.
• Support field supervision in workforce, tools, equipment, and material needs.
• Develop installation work packages to support construction schedule.
• Prepare short- and long-term schedules; interface with superintendents.
• Contribute to quantity tracking and weekly reporting to Project Controls.
• Prepare field material requisitions and monitor PO status/deliveries.
• Assist field procurement with inspections and maintenance requirements.
• Troubleshoot design issues with engineering and fabricators on-site.
