Job summary

Bechtel Corporation in the US Gulf Coast region seeks a Field Engineering Leader to manage a team responsible for work planning, material management, quantity validation, safety and quality control, testing, and system turnover.

The ideal candidate has strong leadership, construction supervision, and oil/gas project experience, with the ability to coordinate across multiple sites and mobility to other units as needed. This role requires a bachelor’s degree and extensive field experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with 10–13 years experience, or 14–17 years equivalent.
• Experience in oil, gas, refinery, petrochemical, minerals processing, or power generating stations.
• Supervisory experience on large construction projects.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide ES&H leadership for piping department and lead safety meetings.
• Perform end of year performance reviews for field staff direct reports.
• Inspect discipline system installations and document results.
• Define workforce, tools, and materials requirements for work evolutions.
• Develop installation work packages aligned with construction schedule.
• Prepare short/long-term schedules and coordinate with field teams.
• Track quantities and report progress to Project Controls.
• Manage field material requisitions and monitor PO status.
• Assist field procurement with receiving inspections and maintenance needs.
• Troubleshoot design issues with engineering and fabricators on site.
• Ensure installations meet latest design drawings and standards.
• Coordinate subcontract technical issues and change documentation.
• Complete quality documentation and final system walk-downs.
• Close-out deficiencies and as-built documentation.
