Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in the United States (Nuclear Power Group) seeks a senior Piping Engineer to lead analyses and project direction, applying ASME B31.1/B31.7 and related codes.

You will review complex calculations, approve designs, and coordinate interfaces with cross-functional teams. This role operates on a hybrid schedule with in-office work three days per week, and requires a PE license and 10+ years of experience.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field from ABET-accredited program.
• P.E. license required.
• 10+ years of relevant piping/structural experience.
• Extensive knowledge of ASME B31.1 and B&PV Section III piping codes.
• Knowledge of pipe supporting elements design and application.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review complex calculations and approve simpler ones; provide technical guidance to project teams.
• Review and approve simple system/structural designs and develop complex ones for completeness and operability.
• Perform engineering review of drawings and ensure design input aligns with client expectations.
• Coordinate interface between design and engineering; participate in design reviews for quality and constructability.
• Prepare and review major system, installation, and material specifications; define technical and commercial requirements.
• Prepare and review single-discipline and multi-discipline reports; support client communications.
