Qualifications

• 4+ years of payroll tax experience focused on tax defect resolution for notices, amended returns, and corrections across multiple states.
• Proven ability to independently draft penalty abatement requests and agency responses with complete documentation.
• Experience preparing amended Federal (Form 941-X) and State payroll tax returns across states with local requirements.

Responsibilities

• Resolve the most complex State and Federal payroll tax notices across multi-quarter, multi-state scenarios from intake to closure.
• Prepare and file amended Federal and State payroll tax returns (Form 941-X and state equivalents) across 10+ states end-to-end.
• Diagnose and resolve payroll tax errors spanning multiple pay periods or jurisdictions and drive full correction workflows to resolution.
• Maintain high productivity in resolving corrections and notices with high accuracy.
• Coach and mentor junior staff, lead training, and share resolution processes to build team capability.
