Job summary

Intuit is seeking a Staff Payroll Tax Processor to lead complex state and federal payroll tax issues. You will own the full lifecycle from intake to closure, including notices, amendments, and corrections, while mentoring junior staff.

The role focuses on tax defect resolution and knowledge transfer, with strong emphasis on collaboration with Corrections, Amendments, Pay & File, and Tax Notice teams to deliver end-to-end resolutions.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in payroll tax with focus on notice response, amended return prep, and multi-state corrections.
• Draft penalty abatements and agency responses with supporting docs.
• Experience in preparing Form 941-X and W-2c across states.
• Strong knowledge of FICA, FUTA, FITW, and state taxes.

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex state and federal payroll tax notices, ownership of full case lifecycle.
• Prepare and file amended returns across multiple states and reconcile to original returns.
• Diagnose payroll tax errors across pay periods and jurisdictions, drive corrections.
• Monitor WIP, identify aging cases, and escalate blockers with root-cause analysis.
• Coach and train Senior Processors, share knowledge, and improve team capability.
• authored SOPs and KB articles for core processes and update QA patterns.
