Intuit is seeking a Staff Payroll Tax Processor to lead complex payroll tax issue resolution across notices, corrections, and amendments. This role acts as a technical lead and SME, owning the most challenging cases while mentoring junior staff.

The position emphasizes not running payroll but fixing payroll tax problems with expertise in multi-state and federal requirements, plus a strong focus on sharing knowledge and improving processes. Flexible, hourly engagement with overtime eligibility.

Qualifications

• 4+ years payroll tax experience with focus on tax defect resolution.
• Expert knowledge of State and Federal payroll tax notices and amended returns.
• Experience preparing Form 941-X and state equivalents across multiple states.
• Deep knowledge of FICA, FUTA, FITW, and local tax rules.
• Lead or SME experience with coaching staff.

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex state and federal payroll tax notices end-to-end.
• Prepare and file amended Federal and State payroll tax returns across 10+ states.
• Diagnose payroll tax errors across periods and jurisdictions and drive corrections.
• Maintain high productivity in handling Corrections, Amendments, and Notices.
• Coach Senior Processors and share resolution processes.
