Intuit is seeking a senior payroll tax expert to serve as SME on a team resolving complex notices, corrections, and amendments. The Staff Payroll Tax Processor leads technical case work, mentors staff, and drives process improvements to deliver accurate, timely resolutions for customers.

The role emphasizes fixing tax problems end-to-end, including state and federal notices, amended returns, and cross-team collaboration. This is a flexible, remote, hourly position with overtime eligibility.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of payroll tax experience with multi-state defect resolution.
• Expert knowledge of state and federal payroll tax notices and responses.
• Experience preparing amended federal/state payroll tax returns (941-X, W-2c).
• Deep knowledge of FICA, FUTA, FITW, and related schedules and penalties.
• CPP/EA preferred; strong coaching and leadership demonstrated.

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex payroll tax notices across multiple states with end-to-end ownership.
• Prepare and file amended returns (941-X, state equivalents) with reconciliations.
• Diagnose payroll tax errors across periods and jurisdictions; drive corrections.
• Maintain high-productivity case resolution and accurate QA data.
• Coach and train junior staff; lead knowledge transfer and SOP updates.
