Intuit, Inc. is seeking a Staff Payroll Tax Processor (SME) to own complex payroll tax defect resolutions across notices, corrections, and amendments. The role is a technical lead, mentoring newer staff while handling the most challenging cases in the queue.

This position emphasizes solving hard tax problems and improving team processes. The role focuses on fixing payroll tax issues rather than running payroll, with responsibilities spanning notices, amendments, and cross‑functional

Qualifications

4+ years of payroll tax experience focused on tax defect resolution for notices, amended returns, and corrections across multiple states.
Expert knowledge of State and Federal payroll tax notices; ability to draft penalty abatement requests and agency responses.
Hands-on experience preparing and approving amended Federal (Form 941-X, W-2c) and State payroll tax returns across states including PA, OH, etc.
Strong knowledge of federal payroll tax law (FICA, FUTA, FITW) and local tax compliance.

Responsabilités

Resolve complex State and Federal payroll tax notices, owning full case lifecycle from intake to closure.
Prepare and file amended Federal and State payroll tax returns across 10+ states end-to-end.
Diagnose payroll tax errors across multiple pay periods and jurisdictions; drive correction workflow to resolution.
Maintain high productivity resolving Correction, Amendment, and Notice requests with high accuracy.
Coach and support Senior Payroll Tax Processors, sharing process knowledge and mentoring team members.
