Qualifications

• 4+ years of payroll tax experience focusing on tax defect resolution across multiple states.
• Expert knowledge of state and federal payroll tax notices and penalty abatements.
• Hands-on experience preparing amended Federal (941-X) and State returns across multiple states.
• Deep knowledge of FICA, FUTA, FITW, deposits, penalties and interest.
• Lead or SME experience with coaching junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Resolve the most complex payroll tax notices across multiple states and quarters.
• Prepare and file amended returns (941-X, W-2c) across 10+ states end-to-end.
• Diagnose payroll tax errors and drive full correction workflows to resolution.
• Maintain high productivity with accurate handling of requests.
• Coach Senior Processors and share knowledge to build team capability.
• Write and review SOPs and KB articles for core processes.
• Identify trends and communicate findings with recommended actions.
