Intuit, Inc. is seeking a Staff Payroll Tax Processor to lead end-to-end resolution of payroll tax issues, serving as a technical SME on notices, corrections, and amendments. The role focuses on fixing tax defects, mentoring staff, and driving process improvements to benefit customers.

Qualifications

• 4+ years payroll tax experience focused on tax defect resolution across multiple states.
• Expert knowledge of State and Federal payroll tax notices; ability to draft penalty abatement requests and agency response letters.
• Experience preparing amended Federal and State payroll tax returns across all states.
• Deep knowledge of federal payroll tax law: FICA, FUTA, FITW and related deposits.
• Lead / SME experience; coaching or training junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex State and Federal payroll tax notices across multiple quarters and states.
• Prepare and file amended Federal and State payroll tax returns (Form 941-X, W-2c) across 10+ states.
• Diagnose and resolve payroll tax errors spanning multiple pay periods or jurisdictions.
• Maintain high productivity resolving Corrections, Amendments, and Notices with accuracy.
• Coach Senior Processors; lead training sessions and share knowledge.
• Write, review, and approve SOPs and KB articles for core processes.
• Identify trends and emerging compliance issues; communicate with stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Corrections, Amendments, Pay & File, and Tax Notice teams to resolve issues end-to-end.
