Qualifications

• 4+ years of payroll tax experience with focus on tax defect resolution for notices, amended returns, and payroll corrections across multiple states.
• Expert knowledge of state and federal payroll tax notice types; ability to draft penalty abatement requests and agency responses.
• Hands-on experience preparing amended Federal (Form 941-X, W-2c) and State payroll tax returns across states, including complex local requirements.

Responsibilities

• Resolve the most complex payroll tax notices across multiple states, owning the full lifecycle from intake to closure.
• Prepare and file amended Federal and State payroll tax returns across 10+ states end-to-end.
• Diagnose and resolve payroll tax errors across multiple pay periods or jurisdictions; drive the full correction workflow.
• Maintain high productivity in case resolution and support cross-functional collaboration with Corrections, Amendments, and Tax Notice teams.
