Job summary

University Hospitals in Cleveland, OH is seeking a Sr. Patient Access Representative to be the first point of contact for patients and families. You will verify demographics, insurance, and payments, resolve scheduling questions, and support the care team to keep appointments on track.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associate's degree preferred.
• 2+ years of patient/customer service in a hospital, physician practice, or clinic.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Check patients in and out for medical visits.
• Answer phone inquiries and schedule appointments.
• Assist patients with enrolling and using MyChart.
• Enter, update and validate patient demographic, insurance & financial information to ensure accurate registration.
• Communicate information to other members of the medical care team.
• May contact insurance companies regarding coverage, preapprovals, billing and other issues.
• Collect patient payments for visit copays, coinsurance, deductibles and prior balances.
• Support EPIC workqueues, worklists and inbasket messages.
• Schedule referrals and follow-up visits.
• Accurately scan documents into EPIC.
• Participate in training and onboarding of PARs.
• May schedule advanced procedures and authorizations (MSO only).
