Job summary

University Hospitals in Cleveland is seeking a Patient Access Representative I in Medicine to be the first point of contact for patients and families, ensuring accurate registration and smooth scheduling.

You will work with EPIC, assist with MyChart, collect payments, and coordinate with care teams to support patient experience and revenue cycle. Prior customer service and healthcare exposure preferred; HS diploma required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or progress toward degree preferred.
• Medical Terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Check patients in and out for visits.
• Answer the phone and schedule appointments.
• Assist patients with enrolling and utilizing MyChart.
• Enter, update and validate patient demographics, insurance and financial information.
• Communicate information to the care team.
• Contact insurance companies regarding coverage and preapprovals.
• Collect and process patient payments for copays, coinsurance, deductibles and prior balances.
• Assist with completion of various forms.
• Effectively manage EPIC workqueues and inbasket messages.
• Schedule referrals and follow-up visits.
• Scan documents into EPIC accurately.
