Job summary

POWERX in Kentucky is seeking a P&C Senior Test Engineer to independently execute testing, commissioning, and validation across transmission, distribution, and generation substations up to 765kV. This role requires understanding of protection systems and active contribution to safety, compliance, and project readiness.

You will perform relay protection testing, CT/VT theory, and SCADA integration while mentoring less experienced team members and coordinating with Leads to ensure high-quality

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in high-voltage Protection & Control testing and commissioning.
• Experience with multiple relay platforms (SEL, GE, ABB, Siemens, Westinghouse).
• Knowledge of NEC, OSHA and NERC CIP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently execute relay protection testing using specialized platforms.
• Test and validate protection elements in complex configurations.
• Perform CT/PT testing and verify grounding and polarity.
• Prepare test plans, isolation plans, and commissioning procedures.
• Mentor Test Engineer II and junior staff in protection testing.
