Job summary

POWERX is seeking a P&C Senior Test Engineer to independently execute relay protection testing across transmission, distribution, and generation substations up to 765 kV. You will apply system‑level understanding to protection testing, support commissioning activities, and mentor junior engineers under Lead oversight.

This role requires strong knowledge of CT/VT theory, relay logic interpretation, SCADA integration, and IEEE/NETA standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in high-voltage protection testing and commissioning.
• Experience with substations 12.5kV to 765kV preferred.
• Familiar with relay platforms (SEL, GE, ABB, Siemens, Westinghouse).
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• NEC and OSHA Electric Safe Work Practices familiarity is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute relay protection testing independently across substations.
• Validate CT/PT testing including ratio, polarity, and phasing checks.
• Interpret relay logic, phasors, and event reports; communicate findings clearly.
• Prepare test plans, isolation plans, energization plans, and commissioning procedures.
• Ensure testing aligns with NETA, IEEE, and client requirements.
• Maintain complete test records and daily reports.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead safety discussions.
