Job summary

POWERX in the United States is seeking a P&C Senior Test Engineer to lead independent testing, commissioning, and validation across substations up to 765kV. You’ll apply protection theory, interpret relay logic, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring system integrity and compliance with NETA/IEEE standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in high-voltage Protection & Control testing and commissioning.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is preferred.
• Experience with relay platforms such as SEL, GE, ABB, Siemens, Westinghouse, or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of protection schemes, CT/VT theory, and relay logic.
• Familiarity with NERC CIP requirements and OSHA basics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Independently execute relay protection testing across substations up to 765kV.
• Test and validate protection elements including line, transformer, bus, and breaker schemes.
• Perform CT/PT testing and verification of grounding, polarity, and saturation.
• Interpret relay logic, phasors, and event reports to identify anomalies.
• Prepare complete test plans, procedures, and test records reflecting full protection schemes.
• Support switching activities and outage coordination with Lead oversight.
