Job summary

PowerX is seeking a P&C Senior Test Engineer to independently execute protection testing, commissioning, and validation across transmission, distribution, and generation substations with minimal supervision. You’ll understand CT/VT theory, relay logic, and system interactions while elevating junior team members.

Role requires field experience with protection schemes, SCADA integration, and IEC 61850/GOOSE; you’ll lead planning, safety, and coordination for projects up to 765kV.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years in high-voltage protection & control testing/commissioning.
• Experience with substations 12.5kV–765kV preferred.
• Bachelor’s or related degree; OSHA 30 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently execute relay protection testing and validation across projects.
• Mentor Test Engineer II and promote safe, high-quality work.
• Coordinate switching and pre-energization readiness with Lead oversight.
• Maintain thorough test records, redlines, and daily reports.
