Job summary

POWERX in Louisville, KY is seeking a P&C Test Engineer II to execute commissioning and relay protection testing under Senior or Lead oversight. You will expand from component‑level tasks to system‑level understanding and demonstrate growing proficiency in protection testing and safe work practices on substations up to 765kV.

As a bridge between entry-level execution and a Senior role, you will develop test plans, review drawings, and maintain accurate test records while adhering to utility

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology required.
• Experience in high‑voltage protection testing and commissioning preferred.
• Knowledge of protection theory and relay platforms is required.

Responsibilities

• Execute relay protection testing tasks across multiple platforms under Senior or Lead oversight.
• Read and navigate one‑lines, schematics, and wiring diagrams with confidence.
• Document results and maintain test records thoroughly and promptly.
• Support turnover documentation and commissioning package preparation.
• Collaborate with Senior or Lead to ensure safety and QA during fieldwork.
