Job summary

POWERX Co is seeking a P&C Senior Test Engineer to lead independent testing, commissioning, and validation across transmission, distribution, and generation substations. You will apply system-level protection knowledge, work with CT/VT theory, relay logic, and interface with SCADA during projects up to 765kV, mentoring junior staff along the way.

You will execute tests with minimal supervision, prepare for energization, and ensure compliance with NETA/IEEE guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of high-voltage protection & control testing experience.
• Experience commissioning substations from 12.5kV through 765kV.
• Experience with SEL, GE, ABB, Siemens, Westinghouse or equivalent relay platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology; related Associate degree preferred.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Knowledge of NEC and OSHA Electrical Safe Work Practices preferred.
• First Aid / CPR certification preferred.
• Familiarity with NERC CIP requirements preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently execute relay protection testing using industry platforms.
• Test and validate protection elements across substations and configurations.
• Perform CT/PT testing and detailed relay timing checks.
• Interpret relay logic and event data to identify anomalies.
• Document results, maintain test records, and support Lead review.
