Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a POWER Testing and Energization Experienced P&C Field Services Technician for project locations in Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. You will perform protection and control testing on high voltage substations and assist field teams.

The role requires 7+ years of electrical testing experience, knowledge of relay testing with Omicron/Doble equipment, and a commitment to safety and quality. Travel up to 80% and the ability to work independently or in a team are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or higher
• 7+ years in electrical testing including HV testing and protection schemes
• Experience with transmission, generation and distribution relays (SEL, Basler, Beckwith, GE)

Responsibilities

• Perform testing and commissioning tasks for Protection and Control systems on high voltage substations
• Conduct on-site protective relay testing using test sets (Omicron, Doble)
• Document site activities with field forms and digital tools
• Maintain logs, photos, and labels with attention to detail
• Support Project Lead or Field Supervisor and communicate progress to project team
• Escalate complex issues to site lead or project manager
• Assist in monitoring subcontractor performance and maintain safety standards
• Perform clerical duties such as timecards and project reporting
• Adhere to WSP Code of Conduct and safety policies
