Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a POWER Testing and Energization Lead P&C Field Services Technician for project locations in Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. You will lead field operations, perform on-site protection and control testing, and coordinate with engineers and clients to ensure safe, compliant, and on-time project delivery.

Ideal candidates have 11+ years in electrical testing, expertise with high voltage relays, and strong knowledge of test equipment and standards.

Qualifications

Minimum 11 years in electrical testing, including HV breakers and substations.
Experience with transmission, generation, or distribution relays and protective schemes.
Advanced relay testing with Omicron/Doble test sets and calibration.
Familiar with NETA, IEEE, NFPA testing standards and procedures.
Willingness to travel up to 80% and lift up to 35 lbs; strong field safety focus.

Responsibilities

Lead field operations and provide technical guidance on complex projects.
Troubleshoot field equipment issues and uphold safety and quality standards.
Coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, and project managers for field deliveries.
Mentor technicians and manage site logistics and communications.
Document site activities using field forms and digital tools.
Lead readiness planning, regulatory inspections, and client walkthroughs.
