Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a POWER Testing and Energization Lead P&C Technician Field Services to lead field operations across multiple western states. You will guide testing and commissioning of protection and control systems for high voltage substations and mentor technicians on safety and documentation.

The role requires deep expertise in protective relays, field testing, and calibration using Omicron/Doble equipment, with strong collaboration with clients and project teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• ,
• Minimum of 11 years of experience in electrical testing, including medium/high voltage testing.
• Experience with transmission, generation, or distribution relays and protective schemes.
• Advanced skills in relay calibration and testing using Omicron/Doble equipment.
• Familiarity with NETA/IEEE/NFPA standards.
• Experience testing 15 kV to 500 kV systems.
• Strong software knowledge for data review and testing.
• Ability to document field activities clearly.

Responsibilities

• Lead field operations for complex construction and infrastructure projects.
• Provide expert guidance and hands-on execution on site.
• Coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure compliant field tasks.
• Mentor technicians and oversee site safety and quality.
• Act as senior field representative in pre-construction meetings and client walkthroughs.
• Document data and ensure integration with project systems.
