Job summary

WSP USA seeks a POWER Testing and Energization Lead P&C Field Services Technician to guide field operations across TX and LA. You will lead teams, perform high voltage protection and control testing, and coordinate with engineers and clients on complex substations and power systems.

You will mentor technicians, ensure safety, and document field activities using advanced test equipment like Omicron and Doble systems, while traveling up to 80% to sites across the region.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 11 years in electrical testing, HV and MV equipment experience.
• Expertise with protection and control relays and testing schemes.
• Proficiency with Omicron/Doble test sets and related software tools.
• Experience following NETA, IEEE and NFPA standards in field tests.
• Able to work outdoors in demanding conditions and travel up to 80%.

Responsibilities

• Lead field operations for complex construction and infrastructure projects with expert guidance and oversight.
• Perform testing and commissioning of Protection and Control systems in substations.
• Conduct on-site relay testing with Omicron CMC 256/356 and Doble F6150 equipment.
• Mentor technicians, manage site logistics, and ensure safety and quality standards.
• Coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, and clients to deliver tasks on time and within specs.
• Document site activities using field forms and digital data tools, and prepare reports.
• Lead field readiness planning, tool inspection, site access, and weather contingency measures.
• Model professional conduct, uphold health and safety protocols, and drive continuous improvement.
