Job summary

WSP is seeking a POWER Testing and Energization (PTE) Lead P&C Field Services Technician for Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. You will lead field operations and provide technical guidance on electrical testing and commissioning for substations and power systems.

The role requires extensive field experience with protective relays, high voltage equipment, and safety compliance, mentoring technicians, and coordinating with engineers and project leadership to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

11+ years in electrical testing, including HV breakers, transformers, and substations.
Experience with transmission, generation, or distribution relays and protective schemes.
Relay calibration using test sets such as Omicron CMC 256/356 and Doble F6150; testing sensing CT/PT circuits.

Responsibilities

Lead field operations for complex projects with expert guidance.
Perform testing and commissioning of Protection and Control systems on high voltage substations.
On-site protective relay testing using relay test sets (Omicron CMC 256/356, Doble F6150).
Mentor technicians and coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, and project leadership.
Ensure safety protocols, quality standards, and regulatory compliance on site.
Document site activities using field logs and digital tools; communicate progress.
