Job summary

WSP is seeking a POWER Testing and Energization Lead P&C Technician Field Services to support projects in multiple western states. You will lead field teams, perform high voltage protection and control testing, and coordinate with engineers and clients to ensure quality and safety on site.

The role emphasizes hands-on testing, mentoring staff, and applying advanced relay testing using Omicron and Doble equipment, while maintaining compliance with standards and client requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
• 11+ years in electrical testing including HV equipment and substations.
• Experience with protective relays and testing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Leads field operations for complex projects with expert technical guidance.
• Coordinates with engineers, scientists, and subcontractors to ensure field tasks are delivered efficiently and in compliance.
• Mentors technicians and manages site logistics and communication between field crews and leadership.
• Performs testing and commissioning of protection and control systems on high voltage substations.
• Ensures safety protocols and daily job hazard assessments are followed.
