Job summary

WSP is seeking a POWER Testing and Energization Lead P&C Field Services Technician for Texas, NM, and OK. You will lead field operations, perform testing and commissioning of protection and control systems on high voltage substations, and mentor technicians while coordinating with engineers, contractors, and project managers.

Ideal candidates have extensive HV testing experience, proficiency with Omicron/Doble test tools, and a strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 11+ years in electrical testing incl. HV equipment and substation testing.
• Experience with transmission, generation, or distribution relays and protective schemes.
• Advanced testing of protective relays and microprocessor relays.
• Familiarity with NETA, IEEE, NFPA standards.
• Ability to travel up to 80% and lift up to 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Lead field operations with expert technical guidance and site oversight.
• Perform testing and commissioning of Protection and Control systems (15 kV–500 kV).
• Test on-site with Omicron and Doble equipment; verify test plans and client specs.
• Mentor technicians and coordinate field crews; ensure safety and quality.
• Act as field liaison with clients, contractors, and project managers.
