Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a POWER Testing and Energization (PTE) Lead P&C Field Services Technician for project locations in Texas and Louisiana. You will lead field operations, perform protection and control testing on high voltage substations, and mentor field crews, while coordinating with engineers and clients to ensure safety and quality.

Applicants should have extensive HV testing experience, be able to calibrate protective relays with Omicron/Doble equipment, and travel frequently to client

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 11+ years in electrical testing including HV distribution equipment.
• Experience with protective relays and relay calibration.
• Experience with test sets such as Omicron CMC 256/356 and Doble F6150.
• Knowledge of NETA, IEEE, NFPA standards.
• Proficiency with testing software (Protection Suite, ENOServ, Omicron).
• Willingness to travel up to 80% and lead field teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead field operations for complex testing and energization projects.
• Provide expert technical guidance and site oversight.
• Coordinate with engineers, subcontractors and clients for compliant field work.
• Mentor technicians and manage field readiness and safety.
• Document site activities using field forms and digital tools.
• Lead incident response and root cause analyses as needed.
• Ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance on all sites.
