Job summary

WSP is seeking a POWER Testing and Energization (PTE) Lead P&C Technician Field Services for project locations in Texas and Louisiana. You will lead field operations, provide technical guidance, and oversee day-to-day site activities in electrical testing and commissioning of substations and power systems.

You will mentor crews, coordinate with engineers and subcontractors, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and document field data using digital tools.

Qualifications

• 11+ years in electrical testing, including MV/HV breakers, transformers, instrument transformers, and protection testing.
• Expertise on transmission, generation, or distribution relays and protective schemes.
• Advanced testing/calibration skills with Omicron/Doble equipment and relay test sets.
• Experience with NETA, IEEE, NFPA standards and field testing procedures.
• Knowledge of testing up to 500 kV and related protective relays and circuit breakers.
• Proficiency with ProTesT, Protection Suite, ENOSERV RTS, Omicron, and AcSELerator Quickset.
• Ability to lead field crews, mentor juniors, and ensure safety/quality compliance.
• Willingness to travel up to 80% and communicate effectively with clients and teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead field operations for complex construction and infrastructure projects with technical guidance and oversight.
• Troubleshoot field challenges, uphold safety standards, and escalate issues to leadership.
• Coordinate with engineers, scientists, and subcontractors to deliver tasks on schedule.
• Mentor technicians, manage site logistics, and ensure clear communication across teams.
• Lead readiness planning, tool inspection, and weather contingency planning.
• Serve as senior field representative in pre-construction meetings and client walkthroughs.
• Ensure accurate data collection, reporting, and integration with project systems.
