Job summary

WSP is seeking a POWER Testing and Energization (PTE) Experienced P&C Field Services Technician for Texas and Louisiana project locations. You will join the PTE Team to perform testing and commissioning in utility substations, industrial and power systems, applying IEEE, NETA, NFPA standards.

This role involves hands-on field work, mentoring junior technicians, supporting field teams, and traveling up to 80%. Emphasis on safety, data integrity, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 7+ years in electrical testing including HV equipment.
• Expertise with transmission, generation, and distribution relays and protective schemes.
• Proficiency with protective relay test sets and calibration.
• Willingness to travel up to 80%.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing and commissioning on Protection and Control systems in HV substations.
• Conduct on-site protective relay testing with Omicron and Doble equipment.
• Document site activities using field forms and digital tools.
• Support project leads and field supervisors and mentor technicians.
• Maintain logs, photos, and labels with attention to detail.
