Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a POWER Testing and Energization (PTE) Lead P&C Field Services Technician for project locations across Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. This senior role leads field operations, mentors technicians, and ensures safety, quality, and regulatory compliance on high-voltage substations and power systems.

You will perform on-site protection and control testing using Omicron and Doble equipment, coordinate with engineers and clients, and drive readiness planning and data documentation

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 11 years of experience in the electrical testing industry.
• Expert knowledge of testing electrical distribution, generation, and transmission projects (15 kV–500 kV).
• Strong understanding of NET A, IEEE, and NFPA standards.
• Willingness to travel up to 80%.

Responsibilities

• Lead field operations for complex construction, environmental, and infrastructure projects with expert technical guidance.
• Perform testing and commissioning of Protection and Control systems on HV substations.
• On-site protective relay testing using relay test sets and equipment.
• Mentor technicians and coordinate field crews and project leadership.
• Ensure safety protocols, quality control, and regulatory compliance on site.
