Job summary

WSP is seeking a POWER Testing and Energization (PTE) Lead P&C Technician Field Services to support projects across multiple western states. You will lead field operations, provide technical guidance, and oversee day-to-day site activities for electrical testing and commissioning in substations and power systems.

Ideal candidates bring extensive experience with HV equipment, relay testing, and field safety, and can mentor technicians while coordinating with engineers, clients, and contractors.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred
• Minimum 11 years in electrical testing including HV equipment
• Experience with relays (SEL, Basler, Beckwith, GE) and protective schemes
• Advanced testing with Omicron F6150/Doble F6150 and relay calibration
• Strong knowledge of standards (NETA, IEEE, NFPA) and field safety practices

Responsibilities

• Lead field operations for complex projects with expert technical guidance
• Mentor technicians and oversee site activities and safety
• Coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, and clients
• Perform testing and commissioning of protection and control systems
• Document site activities with field logs and digital reports
• Travel to project locations and manage field readiness and logistics
