Job summary

WSP Global Inc. is seeking a POWER Testing and Energization (PTE) Lead P&C Field Services Technician for Texas and Louisiana. You will lead field operations, perform protective relay testing and calibration, and mentor junior technicians on high‑voltage substations and power systems.

Strong safety, scheduling, and client coordination are essential. Ideal candidates have 11+ years in electrical testing, experience with Omicron and Doble equipment, and travel readiness up to 80%.

Qualifications

• 11+ years in electrical testing for HV equipment ( breakers, transformers, substation testing).
• Expertise with transmission, generation, or distribution relays and protective schemes.
• Calibrate relays using Omicron CMC 256/356 and Doble F6150.
• Knowledge of NETA, IEEE, NFPA standards for field testing.
• Proficient with data review and testing software: ProTesT, Protection Suite, ENOSERV RTS, Omicron Test Universe, AcSELerator Quickset.
• Lead field crews, mentor technicians, coordinate with clients and contractors.
• Willing to travel up to 80%; adhere to safety and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing and commissioning of protection and control systems on HV substations.
• Lead field activities, ensuring quality and safety while coordinating with project leadership.
• Mentor technicians and communicate project progress to clients and managers.
• Document site activities using forms and digital tools; manage inventory and calibration.
• Act as liaison with clients, contractors, vendors and project managers on progress and risks.
