Job summary

WSP is seeking a POWER Testing and Energization (PTE) Lead P&C Field Services Technician for project locations in Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. The role leads field operations, performs protection and control testing on HV substations, and mentors field crews to ensure safety and quality.

Candidate will coordinate with engineers and clients, documenting activities with field data tools and ensuring regulatory compliance across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum 11 years in electrical testing, including HV equipment and substation protection testing.
• Experience with transmission, generation, or distribution relays and protective schemes.
• Advanced skills in relay calibration and testing using Omicron/Doble equipment.
• Strong knowledge of testing standards (NETA/IEEE/NFPA) and field safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead field operations for complex projects with expert technical guidance and oversight of site activities.
• Perform testing and commissioning of Protection and Control systems on high voltage substations.
• Mentor technicians and coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, and clients.
• Ensure safety procedures, quality control, and regulatory compliance on site.
• Act as senior field representative in pre-construction meetings and client walkthroughs.
• Maintain data integrity with field logs, reports, and project databases.
