Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Lead Engineer in Transmission Line Design to plan, direct, and coordinate civil/structural analyses for high‑voltage transmission lines. The role supports multiple locations including Lake Mary and other sites, with up to 15% travel.

You will deliver engineering packages, mentor staff, and ensure compliance with NERC and NESC standards. The ideal candidate has 5–10+ years in overhead transmission line design, a PE license, and expertise using PL S‑CADD/PLS‑Pole.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5-10+ years of overhead transmission line design experience
• ABET-accredited engineering degree required
• Ability to analyze problems and develop solutions
• Willingness to travel up to 15%
• PE license required

Responsibilities

• Complete calculations, drawings, specifications, and design standards for transmission lines
• Perform civil/structural analyses for up to 500 kV line design
• Prepare complex engineering deliverables and coordinate design reviews
• Develop drawing packages for bidding, construction, and submittals
• Coordinate construction activities and review submittals for timely project completion
• Support budgets, client communications, and business development efforts
• Stay current with industry regulations and standards (NERC, NESC)
