Job summary

Builders FirstSource, America’s largest supplier of building materials, is seeking an experienced Sales Professional to represent the company with key customers. You will collect data on customer needs, develop proposals, and coordinate with inside design staff to meet specifications.

This role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Sales/Marketing and two years of sales experience, with strong presentation and interpersonal skills, plus the ability to train others and lead meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing or related field plus two (2) years prior sales experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated professionalism and ability to train others in a leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Represents the company during the sales process by collecting data on customer needs and design specifications, and acting as a liaison between inside technical/design staff and customer in developing sales proposals.
• Develops sales contracts for a wide range of projects, including residential, multi-family and commercial, by collecting specification information from the client’s engineer or architect of record and conveying needs and changes to technical staff and management.
• Troubleshoots field issues which may be difficult to resolve or are complex in nature.
• Plans and conducts sales presentations for current and prospective customers; designs demonstrations of products and services and explains how they meet client needs.
• Researches, identifies and solicits new customers; generates sales opportunities through research on client needs and competition.
• Continuously updates customers on products and services and explains how these meet current or future requirements.
• Participates in leadership roles and may chair meetings or train less experienced Outside Sales Reps.
• May provide training to less experienced Outside Sales Reps.
• Prepares recurring and special reports for management.
• Attends company-sponsored training programs to expand product/industry knowledge.
• Plans and paces own work to meet productivity goals.
• Understands safety procedures and attends safety meetings.
• Carries out other duties as assigned.
