Job summary

Builders FirstSource, America’s largest supplier of building materials, is seeking an experienced outside sales professional to manage complex customer accounts and lead sales initiatives. You will collect customer specifications, develop proposals, and present BFS solutions to residential, multi-family and commercial projects.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree in Sales or Marketing and 2+ years in sales, with strong presentation skills and proficiency in Office Suite.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing or related field plus two years prior sales experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively and present complex proposals.
• Strong knowledge of company products and customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Represents the company during the sales process by collecting data on customer needs and design specifications, and acting as a liaison between inside technical/design staff and customer in developing sales proposals.
• Develops sales contracts for a wide range of projects, including residential, multi-family and commercial, by collecting specification information from the client’s engineer or architect and conveying needs to technical staff.
• Troubleshoots field issues which may be difficult to resolve or are complex in nature.
• Effectively plans and conducts sales presentations for current and prospective customers and demonstrates how BFS products meet needs.
• Researches, identifies and solicits new customers and generates sales opportunities.
• Continuously updates customers on products and services and explains how they meet requirements.
