Job summary

Builders FirstSource, Inc. is seeking an experienced sales professional to represent the company with a wide range of residential, multi-family and commercial customers. You will collect client needs, develop proposals, and collaborate with engineers and designers to deliver tailored solutions.

The role requires strong presentation and negotiation skills, the ability to train less experienced reps, and a drive to identify new customers while meeting productivity goals and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing or related field; two years of sales experience or equivalent combination.

Responsibilities

• Represents the company during the sales process by collecting data on customer needs and design specifications, and acting as a liaison between inside technical/design staff and customer in developing sales proposals.
• Develops sales contracts for a wide range of projects, including residential, multi-family and commercial, by collecting specification information from the client’s engineer or architect of record and conveying needs and changes to technical staff and management.
• Troubleshoots field issues which may be difficult to resolve or are complex in nature.
• Plans and conducts sales presentations for current and prospective customers, designing demonstrations and explaining how products meet their needs.
• Researches, identifies and solicits new customers; generates sales opportunities through market research and product demonstrations.
• Updates customers on products and services and explains how they meet current or future requirements.
• Leads training for less experienced Outside Sales Reps and may chair meetings in the Sales Manager’s absence.
• Prepares recurring and special reports for management and participates in company-sponsored training.
