Qualifications

• 8+ years hands-on Oracle DBA experience including production support and migration responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end migration of Oracle databases from on-premises to AWS, targeting rehost to Oracle Database on EC2.
• Perform discovery and assessment of versions, editions, OS, storage, interfaces, dependencies, backups, and DR configurations.
• Define migration approach, prerequisites, target sizing, outage requirements, data-transfer method, cutover sequence, rollback, validation, and handover.
• Build and configure Oracle environments on AWS EC2, including installation, creation/restores, listener/network, storage, tuning, backups, and access controls.
• Execute schema and data migration using RMAN, Data Pump, transportable tablespaces, Data Guard, or GoldenGate based on size and downtime tolerance.
• Plan mock migrations, production cutovers, connectivity changes, validation, rollback readiness, and post-go-live stabilization.
• Post-go-live hypercare, triage, root-cause analysis, remediation, and incident resolution across databases and services.
• Create migration runbooks, validation checklists, rollback procedures, SOPs, known-errors, and transition documentation.
• Coordinate with application, AWS, network, security, storage, OS, and business teams throughout migration and stabilization.
• Provide technical leadership for complex incidents and knowledge transfer to steady-state teams.
