Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an Oracle DBA Lead to manage on-premises to AWS migrations. You will own the comprehensive migration lifecycle, from discovery through post-cutover stabilization, focusing on rehosting Oracle databases to AWS and ensuring performance, security, and operational readiness.

The role requires strong leadership, deep Oracle DBA expertise, and hands-on migration experience across RAC, RMAN, Data Pump, GoldenGate, and Enterprise Manager.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on Oracle DBA experience including migration work.
• Experience migrating Oracle databases to AWS or cloud environments.
• Knowledge of RAC configurations and high availability.
• Proficiency with RMAN, Data Pump, GoldenGate, and Data Guard.
• Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Manager and AWS monitoring tools.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end migration of Oracle databases from on-premises to AWS EC2.
• Define migration approach, prerequisites, cutover, and rollback plans.
• Build Oracle environments on AWS EC2 with proper security and networking.
• Execute schema and data migration using RMAN, Data Pump, or GoldenGate.
• Lead post-migration stabilization and hypercare activities.
